If you are lucky enough to find large pieces of driftwood at your favorite beach, it’s good to do something about it, because the worn and weathered appearance is difficult to get from any other type of wood. Making a lamp is a relatively simple way to show your driftwood table. Leave one piece of wood a quick rinse under running water and scrub with a nail brush to remove unpleasant hitchhikers that may be in it.
Saw a piece of wood base if it is large and robust, so that will sit on a driftwood table. If your driftwood is thinner and weaker, you may need to buy or find another piece of wood to use as a base and attach it to your driftwood table using wood glue, screws, nails or a combination of these.

Using a drill bore a hole in the top of the lamp base to have a place to plug in the socket and feed the wire through the bottom. If you are using smaller, thinner driftwood, you can only drill a shallow vertical hole and then hold the cable in the back of the driftwood with staples. Connect your power to the top of the lamp.
